I’m always on the hunt for new makeup brushes to try out. I’ll admit it – I’m a total brush hoarder. I recently had the opportunity to try out 3 sets from Beauty Junkees and I’m more than impressed. I have heard people RAVE about their flat top kabuki and saying it works better than any other flat top on the market right now. I use a flat top kabuki every single time I wear foundation, so you know I was intrigued. Let’s take a look at the different sets and get into my thoughts! All of these brushes & kits can be found on Amazon!
5 Piece Kabuki Brush Set With Brush Holder – $39.97 – This set includes 5 high density synthetic taklon bristle kabuki brushes which are vegan friendly. The handles are made out of wood and are very solid and heavy. The bristles are incredibly soft and are packed pretty nicely into the ferrule.
Round Kabuki : Perfect for mineral & powder application
Angled Kabuki : Great for blush & contouring
Flat Kabuki : Perfect foundation brush for achieving a medium to full coverage look
Flat Angled Kabuki : I also use this one for foundation and cream bronzer products
Tapered Kabuki : LOVE this brush for blending out concealer under the eyes
Overall, this set is a win for me! The flat top kabuki is everything & more! It blends out my foundation flawlessly and because the bristles are so dense, it doesn’t soak up any of my liquid foundation or leave me with streak marks on my face. You also get a FREE brush cup holder when you purchase the entire kit!
Mini 5 Piece Kabuki Set With Case – $29.97 – This set is the mini version of the kabuki set above. I love using these to apply concealer under my eyes, using them for blemishes on the face or when I want to be precise in my foundation application. (They work great for around the nose & brow area!) This set also comes with a free black makeup case – Perfect for traveling!
8 Piece Pro Series Eye Brush Set – $39.97 – From liner brushes to blending brushes, this set has every single eye brush you will ever need! I did notice when I washed the angled shading brush for the first time it did start to fray as you can see in the photo. It’s not a huge deal for me as I was able to trim the crazy hair and go on with my makeup application.
Flat Definer : Great for wanting to create a sharp and precise line on the upper or lower lash line. Can be used with gel, cream or powder liner. I’m still a winged liner newbie, so this should be extremely helpful!
Crease : LOVE this crease brush! It softens and diffuses the shadow and it’s so easy to work with. MUST have brush from this collection!
Blending : You can never have too many blending brushes! It buffs out harsh lines and is SO soft!
Angled Shading : This was the only one I noticed got a little frayed after washing. Still works really great when applying shadow to the brow bone & highlighting!
Tapered Blending : Perfect for applying and blending a transition shade into the crease. This one did shed a TINY bit after washing.
Pencil : Another one of my favorites! Love using this for applying shadow to the lower lash line or defining the outer V
All Over Shader : Packing on color with this brush is a DREAM. Absolutely love it and how soft it is!
Precision Eye Liner: Like I said, I’m a liner newbie but this brush is perfect for applying cream or gel liner to the upper & lower lash line
Overall, I have to say I am loving these sets! I have been using them nonstop for a few weeks now and my makeup has been looking amazing! Even though there are a few shedding / frayed hair issues, it doesn’t really bother me considering they are minor issues. I have washed these at least 3 times and the ferrule has yet to come loose and they still perform extremely well.
