Rouge Volupte – $34 Each
YSL brings us 4 new shades that are perfect Springtime shades!
L-R – Rose Neillia, Rose Asarine, Fuchsia Tourbillon & Corail Jalouse
Words can’t even express how much I adore these lipsticks. They are the creamiest formula I have ever worked with and they apply like a dream. I own several that I have purchased on my own and do not regret buying them one bit. They are absolutely worth the price tag. They are all highly pigmented so a little goes a long way.
And can we just discuss the sleek heavy gold packaging? You feel like royalty when you apply them to your lips!
Gloss Volupte – $32 Each
Newly reformulated, this collection includes 4 new ‘Golden’ glosses. There are 3 different finishes – Golden, Iridescent & Pure. Obviously Pure has no shimmer or glitter, while Golden & Iridescent do. Golden has small gold flecks & Iridescent has a pearl finish.
The two shades below, Terriblement Fuchsia & Rose Fusion both have small iridescent golden glitter. These glosses are very light weight on the lips and feel very comfortable. I wouldn’t say they are truly opaque, but they do pack quite a punch of color while on your lips. They are not super long lasting (Maybe 3 hours tops) and have a fruity scent.
I think the most interesting thing about these glosses is the applicator. I have NEVER seen anything like this before! When I first pulled it out of the tube, I seriously thought I had gotten a wonky broken one. It picks up just the right amount of gloss and glides on the lip with ease.
Swatches (2 Swipes of gloss)
Glossy Stain – Bourgogne Artistique – $35
Combining the texture & shine of a gloss plus the long wear of a stain, these are PERFECT for a night out on the town when you don’t feel like touching up. These glossy stains last a good 5-6 hours on me in between eating & drinking. They are extremely glossy and leave a beautiful shine to your lips.
Rosy Blush Collector’s Compact – $46
I saved my favorite piece for last! The new Rosy Blush collector’s palette. My heart literally skipped a beat when I saw this in person! The gorgeous packaging with baby pink & gold print is absolutely beautiful and chic.
When you open it up, you reveal two shades of light pink which are actually both iridescent & matte finishes. I dreaded swatching this because I didn’t want to mess up the design!
As you can see from the swatch, it’s very very light. This was about 3 or so swipes to build up to this opacity. It’s definitely a product you can use as a blush topper or a subtle highlight.
Overall, this collection stole my heart. I absolutely LOVE the lipsticks & the blush palette. Even though these items may be a little pricier than what some of us are used to paying for makeup, it’s absolutely worth it. I have yet to be disappointed in a YSL product!
