Hey everyone! Today I’m so excited to show you the newest Essie collection. This one definitely did NOT disappoint at all!
“Glamour is something you can’t just put on,” says Essie Weingarten, founder and global creative director of Essie. “It’s inside each of us, waiting to be set free. This collection will inspire that inner ingenue and coax her out to play.”
Pink A Boo ~ Flirty micro-glitter sheer
Sure Shot ~ Glistening, irresistible magenta
She’s Picture Perfect ~ Iridescent lovely lilac
No More Film ~ Seductive deep violet creme
Pink A Boo – This was VERY sheer. I ended up using three coats and it still wasn’t opaque enough for my liking. The color however is STUNNING. This would be a perfect color to wear for your wedding!
So because I wasn’t happy with how it looked alone, I layered it over Essie French Affair. SO pretty! Makes a cream polish really give it a unique look!
Sure Shot – Dark, fuchsia shimmer. Really, really loving this! It was a gem to apply – I used two coats for the photo below.
She’s Picture Perfect – Light periwinkle with a slight iridescent shine. It was pretty tough to photograph.. especially because I wanted you guys to see just how pretty it was on the nail. Even photographing in direct sunlight wasn’t working. You can KIND OF see it in this pic.. but it really does it no justice. I used two coats for the photo below.
No More Film – The description says this is a deep violet cream, but honestly.. I found it more navy blue than anything else. I didn’t have any applying issues with this one. I do love the fact that it’s a one coater! Please keep in mind you DO need to wear a base coat with this or it will absolutely stain your nails! I only had this on for a little bit and when I went to go remove it, my nails were starting to turn blue. I can’t stress this enough – BASE COAT. BASE COAT. BASE COAT.
Overall thoughts on this collection? It’s not the most exciting, but I can definitely see myself getting a lot of wear out of these colors. They’re so versatile and perfect for everyday. I tend to have issues with Essie being runny, but these were all excellent quality!
Availability – I have seen these in select Target stores, but they should be available in salons & beauty destinations worldwide this month!
Price – $8.00 USD
What do you think of these colors? Will you be picking any of them up?
