Happy Tuesday loves! Yesterday I posted a sneak peek on Instagram of the new Makeup Geek Foiled shadows and so many of you were excited! If you are thinking about buying these, do yourself a favor and add them all to your cart right now. I have seriously never had shadows this beautiful, this buttery smooth and pigmented before.
There are 10 shades in the collection and if you asked me to pick a favorite, I probably couldn’t. These shades are so richly pigmented and intense. I barely dipped my finger in these shades and couldn’t believe my eyes. Marlena describes these as a hybrid between a powder shadow and a cream shadow that is on a whole other level. Each shadow pan is 1.8G / 0.064oz and come pre-magnetized so they can easily pop into your favorite Z-Palette. These do NOT come in compacts, so keep that in mind when you are placing your order. They retail for $9.99 each, which is a few bucks more than regular Makeup Geek shadows, but 100% worth the money. All swatches shown below are one swipe and NO primer underneath.
Flame Thrower – Brightened Warm Copper
Magic Act – Light Gold With Yellow Undertones
Mesmerized – Deep Medium Taupe With Strong Purple Undertones
Grandstand – Medium Rose Gold With Slight Taupe Undertones
In The Spotlight – Soft Pink With Coral Undertones
These first 5 shades are INCREDIBLE. Definitely my kind of colors and I didn’t have any issues with pigmentation. They are all very foiled, VERY metallic.. and extremely gorgeous. I would HIGHLY recommend Grandstand & In The Spotlight. Both absolutely beautiful all over the lid shades.
Jester – Bright Mossy Green With Gold Undertones
Caitlin Rose – Bright Amethyst Purple
Houdini – Deep Emerald Teal Green
Showtime – Rusty Brown With Warm Undertones
Center Stage – Royal Blue With Sparkle
Caitlin Rose & Center Stage were definitely not up to par than the others. I’m not saying they aren’t pigmented because well.. look at the swatches, but they definitely went on more sheer than the rest and I felt like I had to build up the color.
Overall, I am absolutely in AWE over these shadows. The way they feel and blend is just incredible. Marlena & the MUG team never fail me and I am so glad she added these to the MUG line up!

I am loving the Houdini, but center stage is also tugging at me as well. They are all so beautiful. I haven’t yet tried MUG shadows but I am pretty convinced that they are wonderful.

Actually, I don’t want to spend money on a Z pallette – I’d prefer to make a pallette for myself (as long as I have somebody to 3D print it for me for free… which I have ><).
