A small part in me died a little bit inside. I sat in my car for a minute to take it all in… and then I might have did a little dance but that’s for me to know.
The Riri Hearts MAC collection launched this past Tuesday at noon EST and had a record sell out time of 12 minutes. I was picking up Ry from school that day, so I didn’t even bother to try as I knew from the last launch it was insanity.
The Riri Hearts MAC Holiday collection consists of two new Veluxe Pearlfusion Shadow palettes, Two Superslick eyeliners, 3 new lipsticks (Including another repromote of Riri Woo), Nail Lacquer, Bronzing Powder, Double Ended Shadow Brush & A Rose Gold Quilted Makeup Bag.
I was extremely fortunate to receive 3 of the most coveted items in this collection – Lipsticks in Bad Girl Riri & Pleasurebomb and the Love, Rihanna Bronzing Powder.
The white pearl packaging with rose gold detail on this collection is absolutely STUNNING. I was a huge fan of the all rose gold packaging with the last collection, so you can only imagine how obsessed I am with this one.
Love, Rihanna Bronzing Powder – Described as a soft golden brown with gold pearl – $30 USD
I was a little skeptical that they were doing another bronzer. They had already released the Blush / Bronzer duo, Hibiscus Kiss, twice so I thought this was kind of overkill. However, I kind of love this! It’s lighter than HK so it works so well with my skin tone! Unfortunately, the beautiful golden ‘R’ is just an overspray and will eventually wear away the more you use it. I’m extremely bummed because it looks amazing mixed in with the bronzing powder!
As you can see, it’s pretty similar to Hibiscus Kiss so if you already own it from past collections, you can probably skip. (Unless you’re a bronzer hoarder like I am)
Riri Loves MAC Matte Lipsticks in Bad Girl Riri & Pleasurebomb Retail – $16.50 USD
The two new limited edition lipstick additions are Bad Girl Riri & Pleasurebomb. I really wish they would have come out with something different other than releasing Riri Woo again. I get that it’s her signature color with MAC, but releasing it three times is a bit much.. Just my opinion.
Just like in the previous collections, Riri’s signature is etched on the side of the lipstick.
I’m really pleased with how these lipsticks apply. While I love the retro matte formula in Riri Woo, I need to use a TON of lip balm before I apply it so my lips don’t dry out profusely. Both Bad Girl Riri & Pleasurebomb are from the regular matte line.
Bad Girl Riri : Matte Taupey Nude
Pleasurebomb : Matte Fuchsia
Riri Woo : Matte Cool Red
Unfortunately, I don’t know how Bad Girl Riri compares to ‘Nude’ from the previous collection. I have a feeling ‘Nude’ is a lot darker! (Totally correct me if I’m wrong if you do own it!)
This collection launched online this past Tuesday on maccosmetics.com in the US, but will be available in stores & on counters on December 12th.
